We have so much to talk about! I’m so excited to start sharing my homesteading journey with you! What started with a garden and some blueberry bushes, quickly turned into a much larger garden, chickens, a small orchard, lots of preserving, more berry bushes, and most recently I added honeybees! All on just over one acre in my backyard.
The key to starting a homestead—or even just a garden—is figuring out what works for you. Don’t waste time comparing your setup to someone else’s. Whether you’re in the mountains, the piedmont, desert areas, or down by the coast, every garden is going to look a little different. And that’s the beauty of it. Gardening isn’t one-size-fits-all. It’s personal, it’s local, and it’s all about finding the rhythm that fits your life, your land, and your goals.
