Dirt

So you wanna grow a garden?

you have come to the right place

Gardening has always a passion of mine. My mom grew up on a farm in Ohio and always shared memories she had growing up. My dad taught me most of what I know in the garden and how to build things I need on the backyard homestead! When I moved back into my childhood home with my kids, I hit the grounding running. I expanded the garden, added chickens, and then honeybees. It has been such a journey, and I’m so excited you’re here to learn or get ideas for yours.

The “dirt” is the most important part of the garden. If you don’t put in the work, there will be no reward. Really working in the garden can be looked at as half the reward, because we learn so many valuable lessons and how to push through failure to keep trying. If you haven’t failed in the garden you haven’t really been gardening hahah.

When you start gardening, the first thing you want to do is find out your growing zone! You can do this by looking up your zip code here: Plant Hardiness Zone
